Eagle Watching on the Lackawaxen River

Did you know eagle watching is a popular activity in the Pocono Mountains? The best spot is the Lackawaxen River, usually between December and March, and the peak times are around sunrise to some time right before the afternoon .

Tips for Eagle Watching

In order to not scare away the eagles, it is recommended you bring a nice pair of binoculars. You should also pack your camera, wear comfortable hiking shoes, and warm layers. Make it a nice family picnic and pack a yummy lunch! Just make sure to always clean up after yourself and never leave any trash. The reason our area is a hot spot for eagles is because we have a healthy environment with clean drinking water that attracts the eagles.
